Viagra has become one of the better-known pharmaceuticals on the market. Pfizer did the original research and development. The trade name “Viagra” belongs to Pfizer and using this trade name is fraud. 

The mechanism of action is by virtue of the sildenafil citrate relaxing the smooth muscles that leads to vasodilation and increased inflow of blood into the spongy tissue of the penis causing an erection. 

Although Viagra was meant as a prescription drug for patients who has erectile dysfunction this is not where the biggest market for Viagra lies. Viagra has become mainstream and part of popular culture and is mostly used recreationally by men who do not have erectile dysfunction. The reason for this is simple. The erection is harder and lasts longer and the refractory time (the time of recovery after orgasm) is much faster when using Viagra. Taking Viagra recreationally has no side effects on normal erectile function. In other words it does not affect a persons ability to have natural erections.
